Methods of Cleaning a Kitchen

For some of you the kitchen may be the busiest room in the entire house, especially if you have a big family with a big appetite. First off you have to organize your kitchen. Make room for everything so cabinet-tops are not cluttered. Every utensil and appliance should have it’s own home. This will result in faster and more efficient cleaning and organizing.

Most bacteria is spread during the preparation of food. It is important to follow all cooking directions to help keep your kitchen as sanitized as possible.

-Wash your hands well especially when working with meat products.

-Store and refrigerate foods correctly (fully covered). If you think something is going bad throw it out right away.

-Don’t cross contaminate. Example: Using a cutting board where raw meat was just cut to chop vegetables.

-Surfaces(counter tops, ovens, refrigerators, appliances), cabinets, and all knobs should be wiped down and cleaned with a solution at least once a week (or more often if it is a high traffic kitchen).

-Replace sponges and cleaning rags often as bacteria tends to build up.
